  • Modifies the noun house by specifying which house (the one on the hill)

  • Since it modifies the subject noun, it acts as an adjective phrase

• Adjective Phrase Overview:

Rules for converting an assertive sentence from Active to Passive:

2. Insert the appropriate auxiliary verb according to the tense.

3. Use the past participle form of the main verb (with any associated preposition).

4. The subject of the Active sentence becomes the object of the Passive sentence, usually preceded by by.

5. Depending on context, by + objective form (e.g., by them) can be omitted.

6. Place the remaining parts of the sentence accordingly.

• Passive: Honesty is insisted on in the workplace.
