• Alliteration হলো একধরনের সাহিত্যিক কৌশল যেখানে একই ধ্বনি বা বর্ণ একাধিক শব্দের শুরুতে পুনরাবৃত্তি হয়। উপরের চারটি বাক্যের মধ্যে ‘ঘ) She sells seashells by the seashore’ বাক্যটি alliteration এর উদাহরণ। এখানে ‘s’ ধ্বনি বার বার ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে যা বাক্যটিকে সুরেলা ও আকর্ষণীয় করে তোলে। অন্যদিকে, ‘ক) The bird flew away’ বাক্যে শব্দের শুরুতে একই ধ্বনি নেই, তাই এটি alliteration নয়। ‘খ) The cat sat on the mat’ এ কিছু শব্দের শেষাংশ মিলে গেলেও শুরুতে একই ধ্বনি নেই, তাই এটি alliteration নয়। ‘গ) The sun sets in the west’ বাক্যেও শুরুতে একই ধ্বনি নেই, তাই এটি alliteration নয়। তাই, ‘ঘ’ নম্বর বাক্যই সঠিক উদাহরণ।

• Alliteration (অনুপ্রাস):
- The repetition of a consonant at the beginning of two or more words or stressed syllables is called Alliteration.
- যখন পরস্পর সম্পর্কযুক্ত বা পাশাপাশি স্থাপিত শব্দের শুরুতে একই বর্ণ বা একই ধরনের উচ্চারণ থাকে তাকে অনুপ্রাস (Alliteration) বলে।
- এটি একটি সাহিত্যকৌশল, যেখানে কোনো শব্দের প্রথম ধ্বনি বা বর্ণ এক বা একাধিক পরবর্তী শব্দে পুনরাবৃত্তি হয়। এটি সাধারণত কবিতা বা গদ্যের শৈলীতে ব্যবহার করা হয় এবং এর মাধ্যমে সুর, ছন্দ এবং মানসিক প্রভাব তৈরি হয়।

The furrow followed free.'
- এখানে 'f' এবং 'b' দ্বারা শুরু হওয়া শব্দ পাশাপাশি বসেছে অর্থাৎ consonant sound এর repetition ঘটেছে।

2.
'Puffs, powders, patches, Bibles, billet-doux' is an example of alliteration.
Here 'p' has been repeated thrice and 'b' twice.

The correct answer is - ক) Though it was raining, they went out. 

Simple sentence-এ যদি In spite of ব্যবহৃত হয়, তাহলে Complex sentence করতে হলে Though/Although ব্যবহার করতে হয়।
আবার, Complex sentence-এ Though/Although থাকলে, সেটিকে Simple sentence করতে হলে In spite of বসে।

Simple: In spite of his poverty, he is happy.
Complex: Though he is poor, he is happy.

Simple: In spite of the bad weather, we went there.
Complex: Though the weather was bad, we went there.

Simple: In spite of his bad behaviour, people mix with him.

Simple: In spite of his cruelty, I love him.
Complex: Though he is cruel, I love him.

খ) Though it rains, they went out.
বাক্যে Tense মিল নেই (present + past)।

গ) Because it was raining, they went out.
বাক্যটি ভুল, কারণ বৃষ্টির কারণে তারা বাইরে যাওয়া উচিত ছিল না।

ঘ) Despite raining, they went out.
"Despite" সাধারণত noun বা pronoun এর সঙ্গে আসে, "raining" এখানে gerund হওয়া সত্ত্বেও formal usage এ কম ব্যবহৃত।

Converting Simple Sentence with "Because of" to Complex Sentence

• Example:

• Simple: Because of the rain, we canceled the tour.

• Complex: Since it was raining, we canceled the tour.

• Rule / নিয়ম:

1. Since/As দিয়ে শুরু করতে হবে।

2. Subject বসাতে হবে।

3. Verb বসবে tense অনুযায়ী।

4. Adjective/Noun বসাতে হবে (যদি থাকে)।

5. Comma বসাতে হবে।

6. এরপর অপর বাক্যটি বসাতে হবে।
