Alliteration (অনুপ্রাস)

যখন পাশাপাশি ব্যবহৃত শব্দগুলোর শুরুতে একই ব্যঞ্জনধ্বনি বারবার আসে, তখন তাকে Alliteration বলে।

সহজভাবে বলতে গেলে—একই consonant sound বারবার পুনরাবৃত্তি হওয়াই Alliteration।
উদাহরণ:

The furrow followed free."
এখানে ‘f’ এবং ‘b’ ধ্বনির পুনরাবৃত্তি হয়েছে। -
"Puffs, powders, patches, Bibles, billet-doux."
এখানে ‘p’ তিনবার এবং ‘b’ দুইবার এসেছে, তাই এটি Alliteration-এর উদাহরণ।
Personification (ব্যক্তিরূপ দান)

যখন জড় বস্তু, প্রাণহীন জিনিস বা বিমূর্ত ধারণাকে মানুষের গুণাবলি দেওয়া হয়, তখন তাকে Personification বলে।

অর্থাৎ কোনো lifeless object বা idea-কে জীবন্ত সত্তার মতো প্রকাশ করা।
উদাহরণ:
"There lies the port: the vessel puffs her sail:" (Tennyson, Ulysses)
এখানে জাহাজকে (vessel) একজন জীবন্ত মানুষের মতো কল্পনা করা হয়েছে।
Rhyme (ছন্দ/অন্ত্যমিল)

দুই বা ততোধিক শব্দের শেষে একই রকম ধ্বনি থাকলে সেটাকে Rhyme বলে।

কবিতায় Rhyme পাঠকের কানে সুরেলা শোনায় এবং stanza বা স্তবকের গঠনকে একত্র করে।
Onomatopoeia (অনুকার শব্দ)

কোনো শব্দ যদি সেই শব্দের আসল শব্দধ্বনি অনুকরণ করে তৈরি হয়, তবে তাকে Onomatopoeia বলে।

বাংলায় একে অনুকার অব্যয় বলা হয়।
