Positive এবং Comparative ডিগ্রিতে রূপান্তরের নিয়ম অনুযায়ী, যখন “Very few” যুক্ত Positive Degree কে Comparative Degree-তে রূপান্তর করা হয়, তখন ধাপগুলো হলো:

• প্রদত্ত Sentence-এর শেষের Subject বসাতে হবে।

• তারপর Verb বসাতে হবে।

• Positive Degree এর Comparative form বসাতে হবে।

• than most other বসাতে হবে।

• very few এর পর থেকে verb-এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত অংশ বসাতে হবে।

Structure:
প্রদত্ত Sentence-এর শেষের Subject + Verb + Positive Degree এর Comparative form + than most other + very few-এর পর থেকে verb-এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত অংশ।

• Positive: Very few metals are as costly as gold.

• Comparative: Gold is costlier than most other metals.

প্রশ্নের অপশন বিশ্লেষণ:

• ক) Paris is more romantic then most other cities. → এখানে “then” ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে, যা ভুল। তুলনার জন্য than ব্যবহার করতে হবে।

• খ) Paris is more romantic than any other cities. → “any other cities” plural form ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে, তাই এটি ভুল।

• গ) Paris is more romantic than other cities. → “than most other” বসাতে হবে, তাই এটি ভুল।

Determiner:

• Determiner-এর প্রধান কাজ হলো noun বা pronoun কে নির্ধারণ করা।

• Articles: a, an, the

• Demonstrative: this, these, that, those

• Possessive: my, your, his, her, etc.

• Interrogative: what, which, whose, etc.

• Quantifier: some, any, many, much, more, less, few, fewer, little, a lot of, several, no, etc.

• General Ordinals: last, next, other, the other, etc.

• Cardinal Numerals: one, two, three, four, etc.

• Ordinal Numeral: first, second, third, fourth, etc.

Article এর ব্যবহার:

• Article ব্যবহারের ক্ষেত্রে সাধারণত শব্দের উচ্চারণ (pronunciation)-এর ওপর নির্ভর করতে হয়।

• যদি কোনো শব্দের শুরুতে consonant letter থাকে, তবে তার আগে সাধারণত a ব্যবহৃত হয়।

• তবে, কোনো consonant letter-এর উচ্চারণ vowel sound-এর মতো হলে সেখানে a নয়, বরং an ব্যবহৃত হয়। যেমন: an MA।

• আবার, কোনো শব্দ h দিয়ে শুরু হলে এবং সেটির উচ্চারণ h-এর মতো শোনা গেলে তার আগে a বসে। কিন্তু যদি h উচ্চারিত না হয় বা অন্য কোনো vowel sound শোনা যায়, তবে তার আগে an বসে।
