উদাহরণে বাক্যটি হলো: She hardly comes here, ____?

• এখানে hardly একটি negative শব্দ। যদিও not ব্যবহার করা হয়নি, তবুও বাক্যটি negative অর্থ প্রকাশ করছে।

• She hardly comes here মানে: “সে প্রায় কখনোই এখানে আসে না।” অর্থাৎ বাক্যটি negative।

• তাই এর tag হবে positive: does she?

অন্যান্য বিকল্প বিশ্লেষণ:

• ক) didn’t she? → এটি past tense-এর tag, কিন্তু মূল বাক্য present tense-এ আছে।

• খ) did she? → tense মিললেও present simple গঠনে এটি সঠিক নয়।

• গ) doesn’t she? → এটি negative tag, কিন্তু মূল বাক্যে hardly থাকার কারণে বাক্য ইতোমধ্যেই negative। তাই আবার negative tag ব্যবহার করা যাবে না।

শব্দ ও ব্যাখ্যা অনুযায়ী:

• Orphan (Noun)

  • English Meaning: A child whose parents are dead

  • Bangla Meaning: এতিম শিশু / এতিম

• Example:

  • The civil war is making orphans of many children.

• Gender ব্যাখ্যা:

  • Orphan শব্দটি ছেলে-মেয়ে উভয়কেই বোঝায়।

  • সুতরাং এর gender হলো common gender।

Tag Question Rules:

• Used to confirm whether a statement is true or false.

• If the statement is positive, the tag is negative; if the statement is negative, the tag is positive.

• Formed according to subject and tense, using an auxiliary verb.

Tag Questions with “Let” in Imperative Sentences:

• If the sentence starts with “Let’s”, the ’s refers to us.

• Following the tag question rule, a positive imperative takes a negative tag.

• “Us” is replaced by we in the tag.
