Lyrical Ballads প্রথম প্রকাশিত হয় ১৭৯৮ সালে, উইলিয়াম ওয়ার্ডসওয়ার্থ ও স্যামুয়েল টেলর কোলরিজের যৌথ প্রচেষ্টায়। এটি ইংরেজি সাহিত্যে রোমান্টিক যুগের সূচনা বলে গণ্য হয়। এই কাব্যগ্রন্থে প্রকৃতি, সাধারণ মানুষের জীবন ও সহজ ভাষার ব্যবহার বিশেষ গুরুত্ব পায়। এর মাধ্যমে কবিতাকে অভিজাত জীবন থেকে বের করে আনা হয় এবং সাধারণ মানুষের আবেগ-অনুভূতির সঙ্গে যুক্ত করা হয়। ফলে ইংরেজি কাব্যে এক নতুন যুগের সূচনা ঘটে।

'Arms and the Man' হলো George Bernard Shaw রচিত একটি বিখ্যাত comedy। Shaw রচিত আরো কয়েকটি নাটকের নাম নিম্নরূপ-
