• Article এর নিয়মানুযায়ী,
- School, college, market, bed, hospital, prison, mosque, temple, church, court of ইত্যাদি মূখ্য উদ্দেশ্যে (যেটা যেটার জন্য নির্মিত) ব্যবহৃত হলে কোন Article বসে না।
যেমন:
- I go to school.
- He went to market.

•  কিন্তু স্থানগুলো অন্য উদ্দেশ্যে ব্যবহৃত হলে এদের আগে Article বসে।
যেমন:
- I went to the hospital to visit my uncle.

Complete sentence: We visited the hospital for a charity program.

Article এর ব্যবহার:

• Article ব্যবহারের ক্ষেত্রে সাধারণত শব্দের উচ্চারণ (pronunciation)-এর ওপর নির্ভর করতে হয়।

• যদি কোনো শব্দের শুরুতে consonant letter থাকে, তবে তার আগে সাধারণত a ব্যবহৃত হয়।

• তবে, কোনো consonant letter-এর উচ্চারণ vowel sound-এর মতো হলে সেখানে a নয়, বরং an ব্যবহৃত হয়। যেমন: an MA।

• আবার, কোনো শব্দ h দিয়ে শুরু হলে এবং সেটির উচ্চারণ h-এর মতো শোনা গেলে তার আগে a বসে। কিন্তু যদি h উচ্চারিত না হয় বা অন্য কোনো vowel sound শোনা যায়, তবে তার আগে an বসে।

• উদাহরণ: a horse, a historian, an honest man, an hour।

সমজাতীয় কিছু(the same, the certain) ইত্যাদি অর্থ প্রকাশ করতে singular common noun এর পূর্বে a/an বসে।

- Birds of a feather flock together.
- Criminals are of a (the same) character.
- There lived a farmer.
