Bertrand Russell is the modern philosopher
Bertrand Russell (full name: Bertrand Arthur William Russell) was a British philosopher, logician, and social reformer. He played a foundational role in the development of analytic philosophy, especially in the Anglo-American tradition. Russell made significant contributions to logic, epistemology, and the philosophy of mathematics, cementing his place as one of the most influential philosophers of the 20th century.
Remarkably, though not a conventional literary figure, Russell was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1950. The Nobel Committee recognized him “in recognition of his varied and significant writings in which he champions humanitarian ideals and freedom of thought.”
