Mutton (ভেড়া/খাসির মাংস) হলো Material noun.
- কারণ এটি পদার্থ বা বস্তু বাচক।

• Materiel noun: 
- যে Noun দ্বারা কোন বস্তু বা পদার্থকে নির্দেশ করে তাকে Material noun বলে।
- Material noun সাধারণত uncountable noun হয়। একে গণনা করা যায় না কিন্তু পরিমাপ বা ওজন করা যায়।
- উদাহরণ: Silver, Iron, Cotton, Diamond, Milk, Paint, Rubber, Paper, Steel, Sand, Wood, Mutton, Oil etc.

• Classification of Nouns:
1. Proper Noun
- Proper Noun দ্বারা কোন নির্দিষ্ট ব্যক্তি, বস্তু, স্থান প্রভৃতির নাম বুঝায়।
- যেমন: Titanic, Dhaka, Moon ইত্যাদি

2. Common Noun:
- A common noun is one which is common to each member of class of persons or things/A noun that names a general class of persons, place or things.
- যে noun কোন এক শ্রেণির ব্যাক্তি বা বস্তুর প্রত্যেকের সাধারণ নাম বুঝায় তাকে common noun বলে।
- যেমন: The words "teacher," "river," and "table" are common nouns.

3. Collective Noun:
A Collective Noun is the name of a number (or collection) of persons or things taken together and spoken of as one whole.
Ex: Crowd, mob, gang, team, flock, herd, army, fleet, jury, family, nation parliament committee etc.

4. Abstract Noun: 
- যে Noun কোনো অবস্তুগত ধারণা বা গুনকে নির্দেশ করে, যার কোনো বাহ্যিক অস্তিত্ব নেই এবং যা ছোঁয়া যায় না, গন্ধ দ্বারা বা শ্রবন দ্বারা বোঝা যায় না কিন্তু কল্পনা দ্বারা বোঝা যায় তাদেরকে Abstract Noun বলে।
- Honesty দ্বারা একটি অবস্তুগত ধারনা বা গুণকে নির্দেশ করছে বিধায় এটি হচ্ছে Abstract noun.

Education is enlightening.

এখানে ‘enlightening’ শব্দটি ‘Education’ শব্দকে modify করছে, অর্থাৎ adjective-এর মতো কাজ করছে।

মূল ধারণা:

• Participle হল এমন একটি verb যা noun বা pronoun কে describe করতে পারে।

• Participle একই সাথে verb + adjective হিসেবে কাজ করে।

• Verb যখন adjective-এর মতো ব্যবহৃত হয়, তখন তাকে participle বলা হয়।

ধরন:

1. Present Participle (-ing):

   • উদাহরণ: Do not disturb a sleeping dog.

   • এখানে ‘sleeping’ হলো present participle, যা ‘dog’ কে describe করছে।

2. Past Participle (-ed, -d, -t, -en, -n):

   • উদাহরণ: This is a book written by Charles Dickens.

   • এখানে ‘written’ হলো past participle, যা ‘book’ কে describe করছে।

3. Perfect Participle (having + past participle):

   • উদাহরণ: Having eaten rice, he went to bed.

   • এখানে ‘Having eaten’ হলো perfect participle, যা ক্রিয়ার সম্পন্ন হওয়ার অর্থ প্রকাশ করছে।

সারসংক্ষেপ:

• Participle মূলত verb-এর আকার হলেও noun বা pronoun modify করে adjective-এর কাজ করে।

• Present participle → -ing,

• Past participle → -ed / -en / অন্যান্য আকার,

• Perfect participle → having + past participle।

- English Meaning: not to be modified or evaded : strict.

• Other options:
ক) Prepositional phrase:
- এতে সাধারণত একটি preposition (on, in, of) এবং একটি object থাকে।
- উদাহরণ: in fight club → এটি একটি prepositional phrase.
- কিন্তু hard and fast rule তেমন নয়।

গ) Verbal phrase:
- এতে verb বা verb-এর রূপ (e.g., going, to eat) থাকে।
- এখানে কোনও verb phrase নেই।

ঘ) Adverbial phrase:
- এটি verb বা adjective-কে modify করে।
- “Hard and fast rule” কোনো verb-কে modify করছে না, বরং noun “rule”-কে modify করছে।
