The Modern Period:
- 1901 থেকে 1939 পর্যন্ত সময়কালকে ইংরেজী সাহিত্যে the Modern Age হিসেবে ধরা হয়ে থাকে।
- 1901 সালে Queen Victoria এর মৃত্যুর মধ্য দিয়ে এই যুগ এর সুচনা হয় এবং 1939 এ দ্বিতীয় বিশ্বযুদ্ধের সূচনার মধ্য দিয়ে এই যুগ এর সমাপ্তি হয়।

• The Modern Period (1901-1939) is divided into two shorter periods.
1. The Edwardian Period (1901-1910),
2. The Georgian Period (1910-1939),
- The Modern English period was one of the most significant literary periods.
8. Present: The Post-Modern Period (1939 ).
