• তিনি Metaphysical Poets বা "রহস্যবাদী কবি"-দের অন্যতম প্রতিনিধি।

• জীবদ্দশায় তিনি অল্প কিছু কবিতা প্রকাশ করেছিলেন, তবে মৃত্যুর পর তাঁর কাব্য ব্যাপক জনপ্রিয়তা পায়।

• মৃত্যুশয্যা থেকে তিনি তাঁর কবিতার পান্ডুলিপি Nicholas Ferrar-কে পাঠান, প্রকাশ বা ধ্বংস করার সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়ার জন্য।

“Though/Although” যুক্ত complex sentence কে compound sentence-এ রূপান্তরের নিয়মগুলো নিম্নরূপ:

যখন আমরা complex sentence যেমন Although he was injured, he kept running কে compound sentence-এ রূপান্তর করি, তখন পদক্ষেপগুলো হলো:

• Though/Although যুক্ত complex sentence-এর দুইটি independent clause আলাদা করতে হবে।

• দুইটি clause-এর মধ্যে but বা yet ব্যবহার করতে হবে, কারণ এই conjunction-গুলো contrast বা বিপরীত অর্থ বোঝায়।

• অর্থাৎ, দুইটি clause যদি পরস্পর বিপরীত অর্থ বহন করে, তখন but/yet ব্যবহার করে compound sentence তৈরি করতে হয়।

Structure:
Independent clause + but/yet + independent clause

উদাহরণ:
Complex: Though he is poor, he is honest.
Compound: He is poor but honest.

ভুল বিকল্পগুলো এবং কারণ:

• He was injured, but yet he kept running

  • এখানে but yet ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে, যা অপ্রয়োজনীয় এবং ভুল, কারণ উভয়ই contrast বোঝায়।

  • সাধারণভাবে একটিমাত্র coordinating conjunction ব্যবহার করা উচিত।

• He was injured, so yet he kept running

  • এখানে so ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে, যার অর্থ “ফলস্বরূপ”, কিন্তু sentence-এর অর্থ হলো বিপরীত, তাই এটি ভুল।

  • so yet একসাথে ব্যবহার করা অর্থগত ও ব্যাকরণগতভাবে সঠিক নয়।

• He was injured, he kept running

  • এখানে দুইটি independent clause আছে কিন্তু coordinating conjunction নেই, তাই এটি ব্যাকরণগতভাবে ভুল।

  • সঠিকভাবে লিখতে হলে but বা yet ব্যবহার করতে হবে।
