- 'The Tempest' অর্থ দুরন্ত ঝড় / Violent strom.
- এটি 5 act এ বিভক্ত একটি Romantic comedy, যা ১৬২৩ সালে First Foilo এর অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়ে প্রকাশিত হয়।

• সার-সংক্ষেপ:
- এই কমেডিতে Duke Prospero এবং তাঁর কন্যা Miranda এর কথা বলা হয়েছে, যারা কিনা ডিউকের ছোট ভাইয়ের দ্বারা ষড়যন্ত্রের স্বীকার হয়ে এক দূরদ্বীপে নির্বাসিত হয়।
- এই নাটকে Propero কে supernatural powers এর অধিকারী হিসেবে দেখানো হয়েছে যার আয়ত্ত্বে থাকে Ariel এবং Caliban নামক দুইটি supernatural creature.
- নাটকের শুরুতেই দেখা যায় Prospero তার জাদু শক্তির ব্যবহার করে সমুদ্রে এক ভয়াবহ ঝড়ের সৃষ্টি করেছেন, যার ফলে নাটকের অন্য চরিত্র গুলো তার নির্বাসিত স্বীপে এসে পৌঁছেছে।
- Prospero, using his knowledge of magic and sorcery, conjures a storm (the tempest) to shipwreck his brother Antonio, who had usurped his position and cast him out.

করডেলিয়া তার বাবার প্রতি সৎ থেকে অতিরিক্ত প্রশংসা করতে অস্বীকৃতি জানায়। অন্য দুই কন্যা মিথ্যা প্রশংসা করে রাজ্যের ভাগ পায়, কিন্তু করডেলিয়ার সততার জন্য লিয়ার তাকে নির্বাসিত করেন। এই ঘটনা নাটকের মূল দ্বন্দ্ব  পরবর্তী ট্র্যাজেডির সূচনা করে।
