• উদাহরণ: Ernest Hemingway-এর বিখ্যাত উপন্যাস A Farewell to Arms–এ Arms শব্দটি দ্ব্যর্থক অর্থে ব্যবহার হয়েছে—

  • একদিকে যুদ্ধ/অস্ত্র বোঝাচ্ছে,

  • অন্যদিকে প্রেমিকার হাত বোঝাচ্ছে।

অতএব, Pun হলো সাহিত্যিক অলংকারের একটি বিশেষ রূপ, যা পাঠকের মনে ভাষার সৌন্দর্য ও কৌতুকের ভিন্ন মাত্রা যোগ করে।
