Armed Forces Day (সশস্ত্র বাহিনী দিবস) is celebrated in Bangladesh on 21 November each year. This day marks a significant moment in the country’s history, symbolizing the unity and strength of its military forces during the Liberation War of 1971.

• On 21 November 1971, the Army, Navy, and Air Force of the Bangladesh Liberation War forces became fully operational and launched a coordinated attack against the Pakistani Army.

• Later, on 16 December 1971, the Pakistani Army, consisting of 93,000 soldiers, surrendered to the allied forces of Bangladesh and India (The Joint Command).

• This historic event brought an end to the Liberation War and marked the victory of Bangladesh.
