• The Modern Age begins with the death of Queen Victoria in 1901 and ends with the outbreak of the Second World War in 1939.

• Modernism is more than a literary movement; it also includes various art forms that flourished across Europe, including England.

• The Modern Period is divided into two shorter phases:

  1. The Edwardian Period (1901 - 1910)

  2. The Georgian Period (1910 - 1939)

• The Modern English Period is considered one of the most significant phases in English literary history.

W.B. Yeats ছিলেন একজন আইরিশ কবি ও নাট্যকার। অনেকেই তাকে আয়ারল্যান্ডের জাতীয় কবি (National Poet) হিসেবে গণ্য করেন।
তার লেখাগুলো আয়ারল্যান্ডের সংস্কৃতি, ইতিহাস এবং রাজনীতির প্রভাব বহন করে।

The Modern Period: 

• 1901 থেকে 1939 পর্যন্ত সময়কালকে ইংরেজী সাহিত্যে the Modern Age হিসেবে ধরা হয়ে থাকে।
• 1901 সালে Queen Victoria এর মৃত্যুর মধ্য দিয়ে এই যুগ এর সুচনা হয় এবং 1939 এ দ্বিতীয় বিশ্বযুদ্ধের সূচনার মধ্য দিয়ে এই যুগ এর সমাপ্তি হয়।
