দুটি noun-এর মধ্যে তুলনা করার সময়, একই noun-এর পুনরাবৃত্তি এড়াতে Uncountable Noun-এর ক্ষেত্রে that of এবং Plural Countable Noun-এর ক্ষেত্রে those of ব্যবহৃত হয়। অর্থাৎ, যখন কোনো Comparative sentence-এর প্রথম অংশ The + Noun + of + Noun দ্বারা গঠিত হয়, তখন দ্বিতীয় অংশে than + that/ those of বসে।

Structure:

1. The + Uncountable Noun + of + Noun + is + Comparative Adjective + than + that of + (noun).

   • Example Sentences:

     • The climate of Nepal is colder than that of Bangladesh.

     • The beauty of this painting is greater than that of the one in the gallery.

2. The + Countable Noun + of + Noun + are + Comparative Adjective + than + those of + (noun).

   • Example Sentences:

     • The students of this school are taller than those of the neighboring school.

     • The books of this library are more interesting than those of the old library.

এভাবে that of এবং those of ব্যবহারের মাধ্যমে বাক্যের পুনরাবৃত্তি এড়িয়ে তুলনামূলক গঠনকে সংক্ষিপ্ত ও ব্যাকরণসম্মত রাখা হয়।

Complete Sentence:

• The passengers would have been saved if the ship had been spotted earlier.

• Bangla Meaning: জাহাজটি যদি আগে সনাক্ত করা যেত, তাহলে যাত্রীরা বেঁচে যেত।

Third Conditional-এর নিয়ম:

• If clause (শর্তযুক্ত অংশ): যদি had + V3 ব্যবহৃত হয়।

• Main clause: would/could/might + have + V3 + extension ব্যবহার হয়।

Structure:

• If + Past Perfect (had + V3) + Subject + would/could/might + have + past participle

Note:

• যদি if না থাকে, তাহলে condition অংশটি Had + Subject + V3 দিয়ে শুরু হতে পারে।
