Let P's capital = 3x
Let Q's capital = 5x
P’s investment for 3 years = 3x × 3 = 9x
Q’s investment for 5 years = 5x × 5 = 25x
Ratio of profits = 9x : 25x
= 9 : 25
∴ Total contribution units = 9 + 25 = 34
Here, total profit = Tk. 34,000
∴ P’s share = (9/34) × 34000
= (9 × 34000)/34
= 9000
