যদি as if / as though এর আগে Past Indefinite Tense থাকে, তাহলে এর পরে Past Perfect Tense ব্যবহার হয়।

উদাহরণ: She cried as if she had lost her only friend.

যদি আগে Present Indefinite Tense থাকে, তাহলে এর পরে Past Indefinite Tense হয়। Be verb হলে সবসময় were হয়।

উদাহরণ: He talks as if he were a leader.

ভুল উদাহরণ:

- জন্ম নেওয়া অর্থে 'bear' verb-টি সর্বদা passive voice এ থাকে।
- জন্ম হওয়া (to be born) — এটি নিজের দ্বারা ঘটে না, বরং কার্যটি ঘটে, অর্থাৎ এটি একটি passive structure.
- সব দিক বিবেচনায় এখানে সঠিক বাক্য - Where were you born? 

Other Options:
ক) Where have you born?
- "Born" নিজেই একটি passive verb, তাই এর আগে have ব্যবহার করা ভুল। 'Have you born' grammatically incorrect.

খ) Where are you born? 
- Present tense ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে, অথচ জন্ম অতীতে ঘটে, তাই ভুল।
