‘Since’ এর ব্যবহার:

• Since বসে point of time-এর আগে।

• Point of time হলো সেই সময়কাল যা গণনার একক দ্বারা মাপা যায় না, বরং একটি নির্দিষ্ট মুহূর্ত বা সময়কে নির্দেশ করে।

• উদাহরণ: গত সোমবার, গত সপ্তাহ/মাস/বছর, দুইটা, সাড়ে তিনটা ইত্যাদি।

‘For’ এর ব্যবহার:

• For বসে period of time-এর আগে।

• Period of time হলো সেই সময়কাল যা গণনার একক (সেকেন্ড, মিনিট, ঘন্টা, সপ্তাহ, মাস, বছর ইত্যাদি) দ্বারা মাপা যায়।

• উদাহরণ: এক সেকেন্ড, এক মিনিট, এক ঘন্টা, এক সপ্তাহ, এক মাস, এক বছর, দুই বছর ইত্যাদি।

  • We have been reading in this school for four years.

  • He said nothing for a long time.

  • Rima has been working here for eight months.

• Complete Sentence: "There is much honey in the jar."

• Explanation:

  • "Honey" uncountable noun, তাই much ব্যবহার করা হয়।

  • Some, any, much, few, many ইত্যাদি quantifiers, যা এক ধরনের determiners।

• Other options:

• ক) many – countable noun (যেমন: books, pens) এর সাথে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

• খ) a few – countable noun বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

• ঘ) few – countable noun বোঝায় এবং পরিমাণ কম বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
