1798 - 1832 is known as the Romantic period of English literature.
- The Romantic Period is the shortest period of English Literature.
-  ১৭৯৮ সালে William Wordsworth রচিত Lyrical Ballads এর প্রকাশনার মাধ্যমে Romantic Period এর সূচনা হয়।
- ১৮৩২ সালে Reformation Act এর মাধ্যমে এই যুগের সমাপ্তি ঘটে।
- এই যুগকে 'Revival of Romanticism' ও বলা হয়ে থাকে because the romantic ideals of the Elizabethan Period revived during this period.
- এই যুগের স্থায়িত্বকাল মাত্র ৩৪ বছর ( 1798-1832).

1660–1785-time frame is known as 'The Neoclassical Period' of English Literature.

- The Neoclassical Period তিনটি ছোট যুগ বা period নিয়ে গঠিত-

- The Restoration Period (1660-1700),

- The Augustan Age (1702-1745),

- The Age of Sensibility (1745-1785).

1745-1785, time frame is known as the Age of Sensibility.

- অর্থাৎ, এই যুগের সূচনা হয়েছিল ১৭৪৫ সালে।

-  The Age of Sensibility (১৭৪৫-১৭৮৫)-কে The Age of Johnson ও বলা হয় কারণ Dr. Samuel Johnson এই সময়টাকে dominate করেছেন।

- তাই, তাঁর নাম অনুসারে এই সময়টাকে Age of Johnson বলা হয়।

- The Neoclassical Period কে Neoclassical বা Pseudo-classical Age ও বলা হয়ে থাকে।

- Pseudo অর্থ ছদ্ম বা নকল, এই Pseudo দ্বারা এই যুগের লেখকদের artificiality বোঝানো হয়েছে।

- কারন তারা লেখালেখির ক্ষেত্রে ancient Greek and Roman সাহিত্য নির্দেশনা কে অনুসরণ করলেও Greek and Roman লেখকেদের originality Neoclassical যুগের লেখকদের মধ্যে অনুপস্থিত।

- এই যুগের Literary ideal ছিল art's for man's sake, যেখানে human being কে সবথেকে বেশি গুরুত্ব দেয়া হয়েছে।

- Alexander Pope

- Henry Fielding

- Daniel Defoe

Le Morte d'Arthur

• ইংরেজি সাহিত্যের প্রথম রোমান্সধর্মী রচনা বা English prose version of the Arthurian legend হচ্ছে 'Le Morte d' Arthur'/ Morte d' Arthur.
• Sir Thomas Malory এটি 1470 সালে সালে রচনা করেন এবং ১৪৮৫ সালে William Caxton এটি প্রকাশ করেন।
• It retells the adventures of the knights of the Round Table in chronological sequence from the birth of Arthur.
  - সাহিত্যটির একটি মাত্র সংস্করণ বর্তমানে বিদ্যমান যেটি British Library, London এ সংরক্ষিত আছে।
• Sir Thomas Malory 'Middle English Period' এর লেখক। 
• 'Middle English Period' এর সময়কাল হচ্ছে ১০৬৬-১৫০০ সাল।
• এ যুগের অন্যান্য লেখক হচ্ছে: John Wycliffe, John Gower, Geoffrey Chaucer, William Langland. 
• উল্লেখ্য যে, 'Morte D' Arthur' নামে ভিক্টোরিয়ান যুগের কবি Alfred Tennyson এর একটি কবিতা রয়েছে।
