১. But as Adverb (only, just, মাত্র)

• Example: You are but a child.

• Explanation: এখানে but = only অর্থে ব্যবহার হয়েছে।

২. But as Conjunction (কিন্তু, তবে)

• Example: We worked hard but failed to achieve our goal.

• Explanation: দুটি বাক্যাংশ বা clause যুক্ত করার জন্য conjunction হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে।

৩. But as Preposition (ব্যতিরেকে, ছাড়া)

• Example: None but the hardworking succeed in life.
