Infant শব্দটি একটি Common Noun, কারণ এটি কোনো নির্দিষ্ট ব্যক্তির নাম নয়, বরং একটি সাধারণ শ্রেণির মানুষকে বোঝায়— অর্থাৎ “শিশু” বা “নবজাতক”। Common noun সাধারণভাবে ব্যক্তি, বস্তু বা প্রাণীর সাধারণ নাম প্রকাশ করে।

• Infant বলতে এক বা দুই বছরের কম বয়সী শিশুকে বোঝায়।

• এটি সাধারণ নাম (generic name), তাই proper noun নয়।

• Collective noun কোনো গোষ্ঠী বা দল বোঝায় (যেমন team, class)।

• Material noun কোনো পদার্থ বোঝায় (যেমন gold, water)।

• Proper noun নির্দিষ্ট নাম বোঝায় (যেমন Dhaka, Rahim)।

• তাই “Infant” সাধারণভাবে কোনো শিশুকে বোঝায় বলে এটি Common Noun।
