শেক্সপিয়রের "Macbeth" নাটকে ভবিষ্যদ্বাণীতে বলা হয়:

"None of woman born shall harm Macbeth."

এটি শুনে ম্যাকবেথ আত্মবিশ্বাসী হয়ে ওঠে, কারণ সে ভাবে সকল মানুষই তো মায়ের গর্ভ থেকে জন্ম নেয়, তাই কেউই তাকে হত্যা করতে পারবে না।

কিন্তু শেষে দেখা যায়, Macduff বলেন:

"Macduff was from his mother's womb untimely ripped."

অর্থাৎ, Macduff স্বাভাবিক প্রসবের মাধ্যমে জন্মায়নি, বরং সিজারিয়ান (C-section) অপারেশনের মাধ্যমে জন্মেছিলো। তাই, সে ভবিষ্যদ্বাণীর বাইরে পড়ে, এবং ম্যাকবেথকে হত্যা করতে পারে।

এই কারণেই ভবিষ্যদ্বাণী সত্য হয়, কিন্তু ভিন্ন অর্থে – যেটা ম্যাকবেথ বুঝতে পারেনি।

সংক্ষেপে: Macduff সিজারিয়ানে জন্ম নেওয়ায় "woman born" এর ব্যতিক্রম হিসেবে গণ্য হয়, তাই সে Macbeth-কে হত্যা করতে পারে
