যে Imperative Sentence কেবল মূল verb দিয়ে শুরু হয়, তার Active Voice-কে Passive Voice-এ রূপান্তরের নির্দিষ্ট কিছু নিয়ম আছে। এই ধরনের বাক্যে আদেশ, অনুরোধ বা পরামর্শ প্রকাশ পায় এবং Passive রূপে সাধারণত Let ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Active voice: Pluck me a rose.
Passive voice: Let a rose be plucked for me.

The correct answer is - ক) They agreed that the contract should be signed.

Active → Passive Rule (Agree/Be anxious/Arrange/Determine/Be determined/Decide/Demand + Infinitive + Object):

• Active voice-এর subject + verb বসবে।

• তারপরে that বসবে।

এই বাক্যটি একটি interrogative sentence, যার মাধ্যমে কারো প্রতি আগ্রহ বা চাহিদা প্রকাশ করা হয়েছে। বাক্যটির passive form তৈরির সময় subject, verb এবং object-এর অবস্থান পরিবর্তন করতে হয় এবং সাথে সাথে বাক্যের অর্থ যেন অক্ষুণ্ণ থাকে, সেটি নিশ্চিত করতে হয়। এখানে মূল বাক্যটি “Whom do you want?” — যেখানে ‘you’ হলো subject, ‘want’ হলো verb, এবং ‘whom’ হলো object। এখন নিচে ধাপে ধাপে ব্যাখ্যা দেওয়া হলো—

• Active voice-এ বাক্যটি ছিল Whom do you want?, অর্থাৎ “তুমি কাকে চাও?” এখানে you (subject) কাজটি করছে এবং whom (object) কাজের প্রাপক।

• Passive voice গঠনের জন্য object (whom) কে বাক্যের শুরুতে আনা হয় এবং subject (you) কে “by” এর পরে বসানো হয়। verb “want” কে passive রূপে “is wanted” করতে হয়, কারণ এটি present simple tense-এ আছে।

• সুতরাং গঠন দাঁড়ায় — Whom → is wanted → by you। কিন্তু ইংরেজি ব্যাকরণের নিয়ম অনুযায়ী, যখন “whom” বাক্যের শুরুতে থাকে এবং সেটি subject হিসেবে কাজ করে না, তখন interrogative রূপে এটি who তে রূপান্তরিত হয়।

• ফলে সঠিক বাক্য হবে — Who is wanted by you?
অর্থাৎ, “তুমি কাকে চাও?” এই ভাবেই অর্থ ঠিক থাকে, শুধু voice পরিবর্তন হয়েছে।

• অন্য বিকল্পগুলো কেন ভুল তা বিশ্লেষণ করা যাক—
– Whom is wanted by you?: এখানে grammatical structure সঠিক মনে হলেও, interrogative form-এ “whom” subject হিসেবে ব্যবহার করা যায় না; তাই এটি ভুল।
– By whom are you wanted?: এটি সম্পূর্ণ ভিন্ন অর্থ প্রকাশ করে—“তোমাকে কে চায়?” যা মূল বাক্যের অর্থের সাথে মেলে না।
– By whom you are wanted?: এখানে word order ভুল, কারণ interrogative বাক্যে auxiliary verb “are” কে subject-এর আগে থাকতে হয়।

• সুতরাং ব্যাকরণগত দিক থেকে এবং অর্থের সামঞ্জস্য বিবেচনা করলে সঠিক উত্তর হচ্ছে — Who is wanted by you?

এইভাবে active বাক্যকে passive-এ রূপান্তর করার সময় tense, subject-object রূপান্তর এবং interrogative গঠন—এই তিনটি বিষয়ে মনোযোগ দিতে হয়।
