Because of যুক্ত Simple Sentence কে Complex Sentence এ পরিণত করার নিয়ম:

• Simple Sentence: Because of his hard work, he passed the exam.

• Complex Sentence: Since he worked hard, he passed the exam.

নিয়ম:

1. Because of এর পরিবর্তে Since বসাতে হবে।

2. এরপর subject + verb বসাতে হবে।

3. Comma দিয়ে মূল বাক্যটি যুক্ত করতে হবে।

উদাহরণ:

• Simple: Because of the rain, the match was postponed.

• Complex: Since it rained, the match was postponed.

অন্য অপশনগুলো ভুল:

• ক) Since it rains, the match was postponed → Present tense ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে, অথচ কাজটি অতীতে হয়েছে।

• খ) Despite it rained, the match was postponed → "Despite" মানে "সত্ত্বেও", যা বিপরীত অর্থ দেয়। এছাড়া simple sentence-এ ব্যবহৃত হয়।

• ঘ) At the time of rained, the match was postponed → Grammatically ভুল; "At the time of" এর পরে noun বা gerund (-ing form) আসতে হবে, verb এর past form নয়।

A burnt child dreads the fire — এটি একটি simple sentence, যেখানে burnt শব্দটি past participle হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে। একে complex sentence করতে হলে participle-যুক্ত অংশকে subordinate clause-এ রূপান্তর করতে হবে এবং মূল বাক্যকে main clause হিসেবেই রাখতে হবে। তাই A child who has been burnt dreads the fire হবে সঠিক complex form।

• নিয়ম: participle যুক্ত simple sentence → participle অংশকে subordinate clause-এ রূপান্তর করা হয়।

• প্রদত্ত বাক্যে burnt → who has been burnt subordinate clause হয়েছে।

• উদাহরণ:

  • Simple: A barking dog seldom bites.

  • Complex: A dog that barks seldom bites.

Rule for converting a simple sentence with “at the time of” into a complex sentence:

1. Keep the first clause unchanged.

2. Replace “at the time of” with “when”.

3. Adjust the second clause according to the tense of the first clause.

Example:

• Simple Sentence: Rubel called me at the time of playing cricket.

• Complex Sentence: Rubel called me when I was playing cricket.
