Comparative Degree থেকে Positive Degree-এ রূপান্তরের একটি বিশেষ নিয়ম রয়েছে যা “than any other” বা “than all other” যুক্ত Comparative ক্ষেত্রে প্রযোজ্য। সাধারণভাবে এটি এমনভাবে কাজ করে যে, Comparative বাক্যকে এমনভাবে সাজানো হয় যাতে মূল অর্থ অপরিবর্তিত থাকে, কিন্তু বাক্যটি Positive আকারে প্রকাশিত হয়।

• Comparative বাক্য: Imran is more talented than all other officers in the camp.

• Positive রূপ: No other officer in the camp is as talented as Imran.

Comparative থেকে Positive রূপান্তরের নিয়ম:

• Structure: No other + object (singular) + verb (singular) + so/as + Comparative Degree এর Positive form + as + মূল বাক্যের subject

  • Positive: No one in the team runs as fast as he does.

এই নিয়মটি ব্যবহার করে যে কোনও Comparative বাক্যকে Positive Degree-এ রূপান্তর করা যায়।

মূল বাক্য ছিল This is the tallest building in the city। এখানে tallest একটি superlative degree, অর্থাৎ সবচেয়ে লম্বা। প্রশ্নে বলা হয়েছে একে Positive degree-এ পরিবর্তন করতে। Positive degree ব্যবহার করতে হলে as tall as গঠন ব্যবহার করতে হয়। তাই সঠিক উত্তর হলো ক) No other building in the city is as tall as this one।
