Very few দিয়ে গঠিত Positive Degree বাক্যকে Comparative Degree-তে রূপান্তর করার সময় নির্দিষ্ট নিয়ম অনুসরণ করতে হয়। এ ক্ষেত্রে বাক্যের গঠন সামান্য পরিবর্তিত হয়, তবে অর্থ অপরিবর্তিত থাকে। নিয়মটি নিম্নরূপ:

• Structure: প্রদত্ত বাক্যের শেষে যে Subject থাকে সেটিকে প্রথমে আনতে হবে।

• তারপর Verb বসাতে হবে।

• Positive Degree-র adjective/adverb-কে Comparative form-এ রূপান্তর করতে হবে।

• এরপর than most other যোগ করতে হবে।

• অবশেষে Very few-এর পর থেকে verb-এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত অংশটি যুক্ত করতে হবে।

উদাহরণ:

• Positive: Very few metals are as costly as gold.

• Comparative: Gold is costlier than most other metals.

• Positive: Very few boys are as industrious as Zaman.

• Comparative: Zaman is more industrious than most other boys.

Laugh শব্দটির অর্থ হাসা বা উপহাস করা। উল্লেখিত বিকল্পগুলো বিশ্লেষণ করলে দেখা যায়, শব্দটি বিভিন্ন প্রকারভেদে ব্যবহৃত হয়:

• Laughingly (adverb) - হাসতে হাসতে; তামাশাভরে

• Laughter (noun) - হাসি, উচ্ছ্বাসপূর্ণ হাস্য

• Laughable (adjective) - হাস্যকর
