Compound Sentence কী?
যে বাক্যে একাধিক Principal Clause থাকে এবং সেগুলো Coordinating Conjunction দ্বারা যুক্ত থাকে, তাকে Compound Sentence বলা হয়।
Compound Sentence গঠনের শর্ত:

বাক্যে একটির বেশি Principal Clause থাকতে হবে।

বাক্যে এক বা একাধিক Coordinating Conjunction থাকতে হবে।
সাধারণ Coordinating Conjunction-এর উদাহরণ:
and, or, but, neither...nor, either...or, not only...but also, else, so, yet, therefore, nevertheless, while, whereas, only, consequently, on the contrary ইত্যাদি।
এই ধরনের conjunction ব্যবহার করলে বাক্যটি Compound Sentence হিসেবে চিহ্নিত করা যায়।

• Complete Sentence: Hardly had I spoken a word when she interrupted me.
- Bangla Meaning: আমি কথাটা বলতেই না বলতেই ও আমাকে থামিয়ে দিল।
- কোনো বাক্যে hardly had থাকলে, hardly had যুক্ত অংশটি past perfect tense এ হয় ও verb এর past participle form হয় এবং hardly had এর পরবর্তী clause টি শুরু করতে হয় when দিয়ে এবং বাকি অংশ টুকু past indefinite tense এ হয়।
- Structure: Hardly had + sub + verb এর past participle form + When + past indefinite tense.
- যেহেতু প্রদত্ত প্রশ্নের প্রথম Clause টি hardly had যুক্ত এবং past perfect tense-এ আছে তাই এর পরবর্তী clause অবশ্যই শুরু করতে হবে when দিয়ে এবং tense হবে past indefinite.
