  • While preparing for the final battle against the invading English and Scottish forces, a cry is heard from within the castle.

  • Macbeth asks about the noise. Seyton enters and delivers the grim news:
    "The queen, my lord, is dead."

  • Macbeth responds with his famous soliloquy:
