  • The major portion of the people are illiterate.

  • Do not quarrel over such a minor matter.

• Comparative-like words now used as positive only: inner, outer, latter, elder, hinder, upper, former, utter

  • এগুলোর পরে than বা to আসে না। কখনও কখনও of ব্যবহার হতে পারে।

Other options:

• ক) This is the most exterior part of the building. → ভুল; exterior ইতিমধ্যেই ‘বাইরের’ অর্থ প্রকাশ করে, most ব্যবহার করা যায় না।

• খ) The utter worse situation was unexpected. → ভুল; utter মানে ‘সম্পূর্ণ’, কিন্তু worse (comparative) এর সাথে ব্যবহার করা যায় না। সঠিক হবে utter worst বা the worst situation।

• ঘ) The most hind section is the largest. → ভুল; hind positive adjective, most ব্যবহার করা যায় না।

• She hardly comes here মানে: “সে প্রায় কখনোই এখানে আসে না।” অর্থাৎ বাক্যটি negative।

• তাই এর tag হবে positive: does she?

অন্যান্য বিকল্প বিশ্লেষণ:

• ক) didn’t she? → এটি past tense-এর tag, কিন্তু মূল বাক্য present tense-এ আছে।

• খ) did she? → tense মিললেও present simple গঠনে এটি সঠিক নয়।

• গ) doesn’t she? → এটি negative tag, কিন্তু মূল বাক্যে hardly থাকার কারণে বাক্য ইতোমধ্যেই negative। তাই আবার negative tag ব্যবহার করা যাবে না।
