সাধারণভাবে to-এর পর verb-এর base form ব্যবহৃত হয়, তবে কিছু কিছু নির্দিষ্ট শব্দগুচ্ছ বা phrase-এর পর verb + ing ব্যবহৃত হয়।

১. যে শব্দগুচ্ছগুলোর পর verb + ing হয়:

• Accustomed to

• Be averse to

• Committed to

• Confess to

• Devote to

২. ব্যাখ্যা:
প্রদত্ত বাক্যে devote to-এর পরে help (verb) ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে। কিন্তু devote to-এর পরে সর্বদা verb + ing form বসে।

৩. সঠিক বাক্য:
She is devoted to sincerely helping the needy and underprivileged people in her community.

"Incapable of committing an error" শব্দটির অর্থ হলো Infallible। এটি এমন একটি বিশেষণ যা বোঝায় যে কেউ বা কিছু ভুল করতে বা ভুল প্রমাণিত হতে পারে না।

• Infallible (Adjective):

  • English meaning: Incapable of committing an error or being wrong

  • Bangla meaning: ভুল বা অন্যায় করতে অসমর্থ; ভুলভ্রান্তির ঊর্ধ্বে; অভ্রান্ত; অপ্রমাদী

• Other options:

  • Impossible (অসম্ভব): incapable of being or of occurring

  • Incorrigible (অশোধনীয়): incapable of being corrected or amended

Third Conditional বাক্য সাধারণত অতীতের কোনো কাল্পনিক বা অসম্ভব ঘটনার কথা বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়। এ ধরনের বাক্যে সাধারণত দুটি clause থাকে — একটি If clause এবং অন্যটি main clause।

১. নিয়ম:

• দুটি clause-এর যেকোনো একটির শুরুতে If বা Had বসে।

• If/Had clause থাকে Past Perfect Tense-এ।

• অপর clause-এ থাকে Past Perfect Conditional, অর্থাৎ would have / could have / should have / might have + verb-এর past participle form।

• ক্রিয়ার ক্ষেত্রে verb-এর past participle form ব্যবহার বাধ্যতামূলক।

২. ব্যাখ্যা:
প্রদত্ত বাক্যে প্রথম clause-এ would have-এর পরে succeed ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে, কিন্তু Third Conditional এর নিয়ম অনুযায়ী এখানে succeed না হয়ে succeeded (past participle) হবে।

৩. সঠিক বাক্য:
They would have succeeded in the project if they had worked together efficiently.
