‘Dead Letter’ একটি ইংরেজি বাগ্ধারা যা মূলত এমন কিছু বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়, যার আর কোনো কার্যকারিতা, মূল্য বা প্রভাব নেই। এটি সাধারণত আইন, নিয়ম বা আদেশের ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহৃত হয়, যা কখনো কার্যকর হয়নি বা সময়ের সঙ্গে সঙ্গে অচল হয়ে পড়েছে। নিচে এর বিস্তারিত ব্যাখ্যা দেওয়া হলো।
